Mick Sawyer

Mick has worked in the Rail industry on signalling systems since 1975 and specifically in Works Testing and Commissioning since the late 1980's. He holds an IRSE license in the categories of Principles Tester (1.3.180) and Tester In Charge (1.3.190).

Mick has a broad base level of Signalling skills from Maintenance to Works testing. He gained his broad range of testing skills and knowledge whilst undertaking various roles within the Signalling Maintenance and Works testing sections of the Birmingham and Nottingham Area's of British Rail.

Recent years has seen Mick lead a Signalling Project testing section and is still active within the field of Signalling Work Testing, undertaking the roles of Principles Tester and Tester In Charge for various contractors. He is currently working within Network Rail undertaking the role as Testing & Commissioning Engineer overseeing major commissionings on the West Coast Resignalling Project. Mick has been working very closely with a major international signalling contractor involved with the Manchester South Resignalling where he wrote test specifications applying his skills as a principles tester.
